15 Year-old girl struck by car while crossing street in Tempe

TEMPE -- a 15 year old girl is in the hospital after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a Tempe roadway.

According to Tempe Police, three girls were crossing east bound Broadway from the south side of the road.

The crosswalk signal was showing a "don't walk" sign and the light for north and south bound traffic on Broadway was green.

2 of the girls stopped before crossing the northbound lanes of traffic, but one girl continued and was hit by a northbound vehicle.

The girl was transported to Maricopa County Medical Center and is under medical evaluation. She was talking and alert upon arrival.
