18 People injured in two collisions on I-10 near TucsonPosted: Updated:
TUCSON -- Westbound Interstate 10 south of Tucson was reopened about 3 p.m. after being closed due two separate collisions near mile-post 274.
One collision involved a minivan that rolled over with multiple injuries. A total of 16 people were injured and transported to local Tucson hospitals, with two in critical condition.
It was determined a tire blow-out caused the accident, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The second accident was a five-vehicle rollover collision. Westbound traffic was diverted from Houghton to Breke and then back to Rita Road.
Two people were transported in critical condition to local Tucson hospitals.
