PHOENIX (AP) -

Weather experts say last month ranks second on the all-time lists for warmest high temperatures and average temperatures.

They also say late February storms added to snow-pack levels but most are still below normal.

National Weather Service meteorologists say last month was 15th on the list of driest Februaries with only .01 inches of rain recorded.

In the second-warmest February in Phoenix since tracking began in 1898, the average high temperature was 77.5 degrees. That's topped only by a 78.7 average high in 1991.

Last month topped the list for warmest low temperatures with an average of 53.8 degrees. The previous mark was 53.2 in 1991.

Flagstaff, Prescott and Winslow also had record-setting Februarys for warmest average temperatures.

Meteorologists say the conditions are likely to stick around for a while.
