PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at a Phoenix gas station last month.

Police said a man armed with a knife entered the Shell gas station near Third Street and Thomas Road shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15.

He shopped for some items, but then went behind the counter and reportedly demanded money from the clerk. He fled on foot after obtaining money from the register, police said.

Police believe he cased the store before the robbery.

Police said a customer walked into the store while the robbery was taking place but did not suspect anything.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot-1, 40-year-old black man with black hair and brown eyes. He weighs about 235 pounds and has a tattoo of a classic car on his right bicep.
