Two teenagers hit by car while crossing street

Two teenagers were rushed to the hospital Thursday morning after they were hit by a car. It happened around 7 a.m. near 28th Street and McDowell.

The teens were crossing the street, walking to a bus stop, when a car struck them.

The driver of the car reportedly told police that the sunlight blinded him, and he could not see the teens until they were in front of the car. Phoenix Fire officials say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The victims were transported to Maricopa Medical Center in critical condition.
