Detectives with the Coconino County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate last week's murder of a 54-year-old Flagstaff man.

Investigators believe Marvin Neal James was killed at his home located in the Doney Park neighborhood sometime between late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

Sheriff's spokesman Gerry Blair said Susan Joy Jacobson, 43, told authorities on Friday that she shot and killed James. She further disclosed that his body was still inside their home.

Deputies went to the residence and found James' body.
Blair said while interviewing Jacobson, detectives obtained a general description of the location of the gun used in the crime. On Saturday, members of the Coconino County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Unit went to the area and located a handgun that was wrapped in plastic and buried.

Jacobson remains in the Coconino County Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond. While in custody, she gave birth to a second child she has in common with James. The couple also have a 3-year-old.

The Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation and conducting additional interviews.
