PHOENIX (AP) -- A man who pleaded guilty in the abduction of an 8-year-old girl has been sentenced to 19 years in prison.
Judge M. Scott McCoy of Maricopa County Superior Court sentenced 23-year-old Robert Curtis Milliron on Tuesday.
He had pleaded guilty in two separate cases to kidnapping and to sexual conduct with a minor.
The kidnapped girl escaped minutes after being forced into a car while she was bicycling.
Mesa police said the girl was able to slip away from her captor after he sped away from the abduction scene, drove down an alley in a neighborhood and crashed his car into brick wall.
