A man sought in a fatal shooting at a Tempe apartment complex was arrested after he turned himself in to Tempe police Tuesday night.

Richard Tyrone Johnson, 28, was booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree murder after showing up at the Tempe Police headquarters.

Johnson was sought after he was identified as the shooter in an incident Saturday about 1 a.m. on Rural Road, Sgt. Steve Carbajal said.

Carbajal said that when officers arrived at 3409 S. Rural Rd., they found a woman screaming for help and then discovered the wounded man, identified as 30-year-old Quennel Banks.

He said Banks died at a local trauma center as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Johnson fled the scene in a 1996 gold Cadillac with the license plate AHB-2105 and was considered armed and dangerous.
