Reward offered in 2 Phoenix purse snatchings

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a woman suspected in two Phoenix-area purse snatchings.

In one of the incidents Thursday, the suspect broke into a victim's vehicle parked at the Children's Safari Learning Center at 7307 E. Hampton and stole a purse.

On the same day, another vehicle was broken into while it was parked at Countryside Park, at 3130 East Southern Ave. The victim's purse was stolen along with a checkbook.

A surveillance image shows the suspect tried to cash one of the stolen checks at TruWest Credit Union at 5136 East Roosevelt St. in Phoenix, police said. 

The suspect is described as having black hair and a black tank top. She had a pair of sunglasses on her head, officers said.
