Todd Bowles created a powerhouse defense in his first season in Arizona. Maintaining it, let alone improving on it, is a big challenge for 2014.
The Cardinals defensive coordinator is a master strategist, but he says that the best defensive schemes in the world can't work if there aren't good players to execute them.
Still, those schemes Bowles comes up with certainly impress quarterback Carson Palmer, who faces that defense every day in training camp. Palmer says Bowles throws an unpredictable array of sets at the Cardinals offense.
