A Yavapai County man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of stealing tools from a tire shop in Prescott, police said.
The holdup apparently stemmed from a disagreement between Daniel Hofer, 31, and the shop owner about work done on the suspect's vehicle, officers said.
During the argument, Hofer allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the owner's chest, said Prescott police Lt. Ken Morley.
The suspect fled with the tools. The owner was not injured.
Investigators processed the scene and obtained numerous leads. They were able to identify Hofer and arrest and search warrants were served at his home in Paulden.
Hofer was taken into custody and evidence was seized.
He was booked into the Yavapai County Detention Facility in Camp Verde on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and felony theft.
