GILBERT, AZ (CBS5) -

Gilbert police took a robbery suspect into custody after a brief hunt on Monday morning.

At about 4 a.m., a homeowner near Dodge Street and Guadalupe Road found the suspect inside his home and forced the intruder out at gunpoint, a Gilbert police spokesman said.

Gilbert Police put homes on a brief lockdown while they searched for the suspect, now identified as Justin Durbin, 26, of Gold Canyon.

Police said they found Durbin at Tom Hathaway's Princeton Avenue home, hiding inside a laundry basket.

"I walked past the door of [the laundry room] probably six times before knowing he was there," Hathaway said. "He had my wallet, my friend's wallet and he took a knife off the counter."

A Gilbert Police spokesman said Durbin likely entered the homes through dog doors.

Prior to this incident, Durbin had a warrant for his arrest. He was wanted for skipping court on other charges of burglary he was arrested for in February.

Durbin was found just before 6 a.m. and taken into custody.
