The oldest Lutheran church in Arizona goes up for auction on Friday.
It was built in 1908 and sits on one acre in downtown Phoenix.
"The Sanctuary" got a facelift in 1938, with 40-foot beam ceilings, chandeliers and mahogany alter walls and pews.
But now the owner said it's time to say goodbye, so his family can pursue areas of ministry close to their hearts.
"That in itself causes me to pause and think about how rich in history and how important this was in the formative years in Phoenix," said church owner Dewayne Reeves.
A commercial kitchen and the original blue prints for the 9,000-square-foot church were included in the auction sale which starts at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1.
Opening bids must top $300,000.
