FAIRWAY, KS (KCTV) -
A crowd cheered early Wednesday as actor Orlando Bloom took a swing at singer Justin Bieber during a heated exchange outside a popular nightclub in Spain.
U.S. and British tabloid-style outlets have shared video of the aftermath of Bloom taking the swing at Bieber. The crowd reportedly cheered the Pirates of the Caribbean star who missed.
The rancor apparently erupted over the relationship of Bloom's ex, Miranda Kerr, and Bieber.
The Australian model and Bieber apparently got quite close following a Victoria Secret's fashion show in 2012. Shortly after that, Bloom and Kerr's marriage was over and rumors had that a hookup with Bieber was to blame, which Kerr adamantly denied.
Since then, Bloom has been seen with Bieber's ex-flame Selena Gomez.
Media outlets say the Spanish dust off occurred when the paths of the two stars crossed and Bloom refused to shake Bieber's outstretched hand. That reportedly caused Bieber to make a provocative comment about his sexual relations with Kerr, prompting Bloom to throw the punch.
For her part, Kerr posted on social media a topless picture of herself on Wednesday as she modeled jeans. She also posted a photo of herself with her 3-year-old son by Bloom.
Bieber has upped the stakes with Bloom on social media by first posting a photo of a bikini-clad Kerr, which he later deleted. However, he then posted on Instagram a photo of Bloom apparently wiping away a tear.
Actor Leonardo DiCaprio was dining with Bloom and reportedly he was among those clapping when Bloom took the swing. Actress Lindsay Lohan was seen laughing about the matter.
Celebrities have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts with most saying they are on #teambloom or #teamorlando.
