TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Tucson Police Department asks for the public’s help identifying a sexual assault suspect in connection with two separate incidents on the south side.

TPD Sgt. Pete Dugan said a woman reported being grabbed by the hair from behind while walking in the 3500 block of S. 6th Avenue on June 27. Dugan said she was pulled into a business and into an alley, punched multiple times and sexually assaulted by the suspect. Authorities describe him as Hispanic or Indian, in his thirties, 5’8” tall, 150 lbs. with short black hair and brown eyes.

The next reported incident happened on July 8. Police said a woman was hit from behind while walking down an alley in the 3400 block of S. 6th Avenue around 6:30 a.m. The suspect allegedly hit her in the face several times and sexually assaulted her.

Investigators are looking for any tips that could lead them to this man.  Sgt. Dugan said, "Both females were injured during the sexual assaults. The first one I described was assaulted and punched in the head several times. The same thing with the second female that was involved. She was punched several times. Her injuries were a lot more serious, both non life threatening."

He was described as Hispanic or Indian, about 6’ tall and was seen riding a bicycle.  Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

“While this appears to be a crime of opportunity, it’s still poaching and theft of wildlife from the citizens of Arizona,” said Regional Supervisor Raul Vega of Game and Fish in Tucson, in a recent news release.  “It’s especially cruel, given that the javelina was pregnant.”
