With stuck gas pedal, woman drives through AZ fitness centerPosted: Updated:
A 47-year-old Prescott Valley woman said she was planning to work out at her gym early Wednesday morning when her gas pedal got stuck and she drove completely through the fitness center.
Police said the vehicle went through the front entrance of Snap Fitness at 6455 N. Viewpoint Dr. in Prescott Valley about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and out the back, causing heavy damage to the building and fitness equipment inside.
The driver, later identified as Cindy Snyder, called police to report the crash and then left the fitness center before police arrived.
Police contacted Snyder who said the gas pedal on her 2001 Honda 4-door sedan got stuck and her vehicle accelerated through the front of the building. No one was inside at the time.
Snyder said she was not hurt.
Officers do not believe Snyder was impaired at the time.
Police said they don't have damage estimates at this time.
Charges are pending as investigators review the incident.
