KINGMAN, AZ (CBS5) -
A Kingman man was booked into jail after allegedly choking and beating his girlfriend over not having his dinner ready in time Saturday evening.
Dustin Eric Green, 27, was arrested after his 22-year-old girlfriend told police at Kingman Regional Medical Center that he split her eye open and threatened to beat her with a rubber mallet for not cooking dinner fast enough, according to a Mohave County Sheriff's Office news release.
She said he choked her to a point where she couldn't breathe and that she stabbed him in the leg with a knife to get him to stop, according to the release.
She said the stabbing further infuriated Green and he began to beat her about the head, according to the release.
Deputies found Green at another residence when they learned he had two active misdemeanor warrants, a probation violation warrant and a failure to pay fines warrant, according to the release.
He was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment of his wound and was later taken into custody.
He said he grabbed his girlfriend by the throat in self-defense because she grabbed the knife, according to the release.
He was booked into jail on suspicion of felony aggravated assault and two active warrants.
