City of Savannah crews responded to a minor sewage spill south of Talmadge Bridge Sunday afternoon.
This spill happened around 3:15 p.m. and was the result of a defective air release valve. The total volume discharged was estimated to be 50 gallons.
The amount of this spill is classified as a minor spill under State Environmental Protection Division guidelines.
The spill was corrected by 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The valve was shut off and repaired.
