A familiar face in law enforcement is stepping into a new role.
Deb Faulkner is now the new deputy chief of the Franklin Police Department.
Her parents were on hand to do the pinning honors.
Faulkner was the first female officer in Nashville.
She's bringing the sense of duty she's developed over the decades with her to Franklin.
"Those are mighty words and they are important words," said Faulkner. "You take them to heart and collectively they are in your head forever. And you wear them. If you forget, all you have to do is look at your badge as a reminder of what you stand for."
Last fall Faulkner celebrated 40 years in law enforcement, most recently serving as an inspector general looking into TennCare fraud.
