Police serve warrants at Phoenix motelPosted: Updated:
Phoenix police officers served several warrants to individuals they say were involved in various weapons and drug crimes at a Phoenix motel Wednesday morning.
Officers began serving warrants about 6:30 a.m. at the Las Palmas Inn near Ninth and Northwest Grand avenues, said Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson.
Thompson said some of the motel's residents were suspected of participating in crimes that included weapons violations and drug sales.
Officers from the South Mountain Precinct and the department's Gang Enforcement Unit made the arrests as part of Operation Hurricane, Thompson said.
The operation also involved the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, Thompson said.
No other information was immediately available.
