Holyoke police hold fourth annual 5KPosted: Updated:
More than 200 people ran from the police in the city on Saturday, but it was all for a good cause.
The Holyoke Police Officer's Ball Committee held its fourth annual Can You Outrun the Law 5K.
The event, which took place at the Holyoke Elks, has raised money for a different cause each year.
This time around, the money raised from the race went towards the Holyoke Allies youth baseball organization.
They said the cash will help them continue to grow.
"We're a new club," said Michael Cavanagh, head coach of the Allies. "The club started last summer. We're looking to grow our club each year. We have some scholarship opportunities for kids who need potential assistance to participate at our level."
The ball committee said their goal is to raise at least $1,000 each year for their cause.
They said for the fourth year in a row, they met that goal.
