Garbage truck becomes entangled in electrical wiresPosted: Updated:
A garbage truck on its route Friday morning in Southington became entangled in some electrical wires outside a local business.
Police said they were called to the area of 359 Marion Ave., near the A & A Surplus, after the driver of the truck reported that the truck had struck some overhead wires.
The driver was advised to stay in his vehicle until emergency and utility crews could arrive and cut the power, officials said.
The driver was not injured in the incident, police said. Connecticut Light and Power was called in to repair the lines.
Police do not know how the truck became entangled in the wires.
