A routine stop for vehicle equipment violations in Yavapai County landed two Oklahoma men in jail on pot charges.
Yavapai County K-9 sheriff's deputies pulled the vehicle over on Interstate 40 and as they approached the pickup they smelled marijuana, YCSO said.
The driver, Johnathon Ford, 26, consented to a vehicle search. A deputy found a digital scale covered with marijuana residue in the glove compartment, sheriff's investigators said.
Deputies said they also found seven packages of marijuana weighing nearly 9 pounds hidden inside a spare tire.
The driver and a passenger, Kelcey Ford, 29, were both arrested and booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges, including possession/transportation of marijuana for sale.
