The number of union workers in Arizona in 2013 was slightly less than the year before, and ranks 41st in the nation.
The U.S. Department of Labor released numbers Friday that showed union members accounted for 5 percent of the wage and salary workers in Arizona in 2013, compared to 5.1 percent in 2012.
Regional Commissioner Richard Holden said the union membership rate in 2013 of 122,000 workers was a series low for the state. [Click here to view full report (PDF)]
In 2007 and 2008, Arizona had a series high of 8.8. percent.
Nationally, the 14.5 million union members account of 11.3 percent of workers in 2013, which was the same as in 2012.
