Pickup truck sought in northeast valley hit-and-runPosted: Updated:
A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in the northeast end of the Las Vegas Valley.
Las Vegas Metro police said the crash happened on Lake Mead Boulevard east of Pecos Road at 7:10 p.m. Thursday.
According to police, 57-year-old Stanley Woosley was crossing Lake Mead outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by an eastbound pickup truck.
Police said the pickup fled the scene, leaving Woosley injured on the road. Woosley was taken to University Medical Center Trauma with critical injuries.
Police described the truck involved in the crash as a mid-size, dark color pickup that may be made by Ford. Police said the vehicle may also have moderate right front end damage.
Police also said the first three characters of the license plate were reported to be "563," though the plate's state was not known.
