2 women burned in travel trailer fire outside GlobePosted: Updated:
Two women were hospitalized with burns suffered when their travel trailer caught fire just outside of Globe on Monday evening.
A man called the Gila County Sheriff's Office to report an explosion about 6:25 p.m., according to a Gila County sheriff's spokesperson.
Fire units from the Tri-City, Globe and Canyon fire departments arrived to find the trailer fully engulfed in the community of Claypool, the spokesperson said.
The two women were treated for burns at the scene and then flown to a hospital for further treatment. The injuries did not appear life-threatening, the spokesperson said.
The investigation was continuing with Gila County deputies, the Tri-City fire investigator and Globe fire marshal, the spokesperson said.
The Gila County Narcotics and Violent Crime Task Force was also part of the investigation, the spokesperson said.
No other information was immediately available.
