King's 'Dream' speech remembered at ASU West campus

Posted: Updated:

Some local students experienced the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as part of the annual March On The West event Wednesday.

The middle and high school students held a civil rights march on the Arizona State University West campus from Paley Gates to the Fletcher Library lawn. The march was a re-enactment of the 1963 March on Washington.

ASU faculty member Charles St. Clair then delivered King's I Have a Dream speech in front of almost 900 students.

The event was part of a tradition at ASU that dates back to 1991.
