A motorcyclist reached speeds of up to 140 mph on a West Valley freeway before he was caught Monday night.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officers tried to pull the motorcyclist over, but he fled and officers had to follow him for miles on Interstate 10 in the West Valley. They finally caught up with him at a Walmart near Roosevelt Street and Estrella Parkway in Goodyear.
The motorcyclist tried to run from officers but was caught after a short foot chase.
A DPS spokesman said DPS officers never did engage the motorcyclist in a chase on the freeway.
No other information was immediately available.
