Man arrested for shooting at police officer in San Carlos

Federal authorities in eastern Arizona say they have arrested a man after he allegedly shot at an officer during a traffic stop in the San Carlos area Sunday morning.

Federal Bureau of Investigations spokesman Manuel Johnson said 30-year-old Christopher Ellis Delmar shot at a San Carlos police officer as he was being pulled over for a traffic violation.

Johnson said the incident happened southeast of Globe along U.S. 70 at mile marker 272.

The officer was not injured.

San Carlos police were able to locate Delmar and make an arrest a few hours later.

No other details were immediately provided.
