Federal officers arrested a 49-year-old Mexican national Wednesday on suspicion of attempting to smuggle marijuana through Port of Douglas.
A vehicle driven by a Pirtleville resident from Mexico was selected for further inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.
A CBP narcotics detection dog located nearly 200 pounds of marijuana, officers said.
The drugs, valued at an estimated $100,000, and vehicle were seized.
The driver was referred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
