PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Red-light runners are a dangerous problem just about everywhere in Arizona, especially in the Phoenix metro area.

And the proof is in the pictures.

American Traffic Solutions, a company that provides red-light safety cameras, has released a new video that shows some of Arizona's most serious crashes of 2013. And all of them were caused by careless drivers speeding and running red lights.

"There's no question this is time of year, when people are more distracted than usual, they're busy to get to the store, busy to get to a party, in a hurry to get home," said Charles Territo of American Traffic Solutions.

The latest statistics show car crashes kill an average of 830 people in Arizona each year, or about 2.3 deaths every day.

One sequence shows a pickup truck racing right into the intersection at McDowell and Scottsdale roads in Scottsdale.

Another crash was captured at Gilbert and Baseline roads in Mesa in June, when a white car ran a red light and blasts into a busy intersection.

And yet another caught on camera showed a dangerous driver behind the wheel of an SUV in a collision at Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale.

Traffic experts are hoping the video sends a strong message to Arizona drivers: Be more cautious behind the wheel.

"Each year we see hundreds of crashes throughout the country and each of them could be prevented if people just obey the law slow down and stop on red," Territo said.
