A dangerous standoff has concluded without anyone being injured on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community early Sunday morning.
SRP-MIC Police spokesman Det. Vincente Cendejas said their officers responded to a report of shots being fired around 2 a.m. in the area of Indian School and Alma School roads.
When officers arrived they saw the muzzle flash of gunfire directed towards them and took cover, said Cendejas. The officers immediately called for backup units, but did not return fire.
Multiple agencies assisted with the incident, including tactical units, SWAT, FBI, AZDPS, Scottsdale police and Mesa police.
After an hours long standoff two were taken in custody around 7:30 a.m. without any reported injuries, said Cendejas.
The incident is still under investigation.
