GCU's Jones chosen Madness WAC Player of the Week for a second time

GCU senior guard/forward Judy Jones is the second player from the Antelopes women's basketball team to be honored for her performance during the club's 3-0 week, which included winning the title at the Clarion Warhawk Classic in Jones's hometown of Monroe, La.

Jones was selected the College Sports Madness WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Earlier in the day, senior guard Justine Johnson was selected, by the conference, as the WAC Player of the Week.

Jones averaged 13.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.0 steals for the week. She had 14 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and four steals in a 75-55 win at Nevada and was selected to the all-tournament team at the Clarion Warhawk Classic.

This is the second time Jones has been selected the CollegeSportsMadness.com WAC Player of the Week.

The Antelopes are 9-2 on the season and receiving votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. GCU is back in action Dec. 23 with a 1 p.m. contest against Hawai'i at GCU Arena.
