GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Glendale police said they have located a missing 12-year-old child who was upset over discipline his parents doled out.

Gabriel Payan was found hiding in the 15400 block of North 51st Avenue, not far from his home.

Detectives returned him to his family.

Payan was last seen at 8 p.m. Sunday at his home in the area of 15400 N. 61st Avenue.

His parents filed a missing child report just before 11 p.m. with Glendale police.

The boy's father said he had driven "everywhere all night to look for him."

Payan has been known to hide from his family for hours without his parent's knowledge or permission, according to Glendale police Sgt. Jay O'Neill.
