Some female soldiers branded 'too pretty' for combat PR

Do looks play a role in whether the public will accept women on the front lines in the military?

After pictures featuring an attractive corporal were published in Army Magazine, the Daily Mail reports that a female Army colonel sent out an email blasting them.

Colonel Lynette Arnhart says that images of pretty female soldiers undermine the Army's attempts to convince the public that women are ready for combat.

Arnhart reportedly said that photos ave "average looking" or "ugly" women should be used instead.

It's suggested that pictures of women covered in mud and other shots sent the message that women are willing to do the dirty work needed to get the job done.
