Driver dies when car hits fence, wall in west Phoenix
PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A 19-year-old man was killed after his car struck a fence and wall along a canal bank in west Phoenix early Friday morning.
The man's 1995 Toyota Camry was going the wrong way in the southbound lanes of 67th Avenue, struck a curb and drove up on the sidewalk near 500 South about 1:40 a.m., said Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson.
The car then crossed some railroad tracks before hitting the fence and wall. The driver was dead the scene, Thompson said.
The victim's identity wasn't released.
No other information was immediately available.
