The family of a murdered teen is speaking out for the first time since learning she and her boyfriend were shot and killed as they slept.
Their killer is still on the run following Monday night's shooting in a casita behind a house.
CBS 5 News spoke with the victim's sister who said her sister didn't deserve to die.
"She just loved him. She was crazy over him. That was her ... that was everything to her," the victim's sister, Yolanda Munguia said.
Police say Hector Karaca, 24, is responsible for killing Kristen Furgeri and her boyfriend, Jose Alonso Villa, in their sleep.
Police said the 24-year-old stopped by to visit last Monday and around 11:30 p.m., neighbors reported hearing muffled gunshots.
Neighbors said Karaca took off in Villa's car, which was found hours later in south Phoenix, but Karaca was not located.
"He's just a coward. He's a horrible person. He's a monster. He needs to be put behind bars. He needs to be put away for life," Munguia said.
Munguia said her sister was going to graduate from high school in December and planned on studying graphic design in college.
"She was full of life. She was looking for a Halloween costume and they were going to dress up for Halloween. She was happy," Munguia said.
Munguia said she doesn't know if her sister and Villa knew the suspect.
The family will be holding a car wash Saturday at Title Max on the corner of Central and Southern to help pay for funeral expenses. They've also set up an account under her name at Wells Fargo.
