The Arizona Supreme Court upheld the disbarment of a former Maricopa County prosecutor for her role in pushing failed investigations of public officials in court.

The Supreme Court ruled on former Deputy County Attorney Lisa Aubuchon's appeal of an attorney disciplinary panel's 2012 order that she be disbarred.

The justices last year delayed Aubuchon's disbarment pending the outcome of her appeal.

Aubuchon and ex-County Attorney Andrew Thomas were disbarred for what the disciplinary panel ruled was ethical misconduct during a years-long battle with county officials.

The panel said Aubuchon and Thomas broke criminal intimidation and perjury laws in knowingly bringing false bribery charges against a judge.

The cases were investigated by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's now-closed anti-public corruption squad.

Thomas did not appeal his disbarment.
