A new law took effect Friday that requires scrap metal recyclers to register their company with the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Gov. Jan Brewer will officially sign the bill Tuesday.
Scrap metal recyclers must provide detailed information to DPS regarding their company as part of the registration process.
The information includes the name and address of the business, the name of each person that owns the business and full identification of each owner.
After completing the registration, the recyclers will be provided with a certificate verifying their registration.
