An 86-year-old Mesa woman died when she attempted to make a U-turn and was hit by a taxi cab in Mesa on Tuesday.
Thelma Stoker was driving a 2000 Buick sedan in the curb lane heading west on Broadway Road when she tried the U-turn near 80th Street about 11 a.m. She turned in front of a 2010 Toyota Prius Yellow Cab driven by a 46-year-old man and heading in the same direction, according to a Mesa police report.
Stoker was the only person in her car.
The driver of the Prius was not injured, police said.
Police said there were no indications of impairment, according to the report.
