SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at about 7:20 p.m. on Sunday at the Mobil gas station on East Columbus Avenue.

They told CBS 3 that a black male, approximately 5'7", 180 pounds, walked into the station with a large serrated knife, demanding the clerk open the register.

The man, who police said had dread locks and his face partially covered by a scarf, took money from the register and fled on foot on Broad Street, north towards Main Street.
