PD: Prescott man, 41, tries to extort money from his parents

PRESCOTT, AZ (CBS5) -
A Prescott man's attempt at get money from his parents by threatening them failed and landed him in jail.
The Prescott Police Department said Michael W. Hill, 41, was arrested about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday for allegedly threatening to hurt his mother and father and burn down their Prescott home if they didn't pay him $2,000. He reportedly wanted the money so he could leave Prescott.
Hill's parents told police he has an extensive criminal history and served time in the Arizona Department of Corrections in 2010. They believed he was capable of carrying out his threats. The parents also filed an Order of Protection through the Yavapai County Superior Court on Wednesday.
Hill was found at a home on Cougar Trail in Prescott and was booked into Yavapai County Jail in Prescott for felony extortion, threats and intimidation, and harassment.
