Phoenix police have identified the two people found dead in a home in northwest Phoenix late Friday afternoon.

Phoenix police said the victims are 48-year-old Judy Scism and 49-year-old Edwin Russell.

Police said the circumstances surrounding their deaths are still under investigation.

Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson said their bodies were found in the 5700 block of West Indianola Avenue on July 19.

Thompson said it appears they had been there for several days. Police said a neighbor had not heard from the pair and went over to their home. Police said the neighbor saw something suspicious through the window and called 911.

Police said there was trauma to both of the bodies and they're investigating it as a possible murder-suicide.

The medical examiner is determining the cause of death.

No other details were immediately available.
