Springfield voters approve $800M MGM casino planPosted: Updated:
There will be some big casino competition coming for Connecticut, and it's closer than Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods.
Voters in Springfield have given the green light to an MGM casino in the city.
The company first proposed the $800-million casino last year.
They are competing with two other casino companies who want to move into the Bay State, including Mohegan Sun, who proposed a $1-billion resort casino in Palmer, MA.
MGM must now submit their final application to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission by Dec. 31.
