Thousands of pounds of beef recalled following E. coli fears

The USDA has announced that it is recalling 22,737 lbs of meat following possible E. coli. contamination.

The contaminated meat was shipped to institutions and retail establishments. The bacteria was found after a routine inspection.

The cases of beef came out of National Beef Packing in Liberal, Kansas. The list of meats include:

*10 pound packages of "National Beef" 80/20

*Coarse Ground Chuck, package code 0481

*10 pound packages of "National Beef" 81/19

*Coarse Ground Beef, package code 0421

*Fine Ground Chuck, package code 0484.

The "Use by" sale date is June 14, so check your freezer.

No illnesses have been reported as of yet.
