Officer shoots domestic violence suspect

Today at 11:00 a.m. officers from the South Euclid, Lyndhurst, and Beachwood Police Departments were searching an apartment at 1420 Richmond Road in Lyndhurst, for a suspect wanted on a domestic violence warrant. 

The domestic violence warrant was issued for an act of domestic violence that took place in the City of South Euclid the night of June 15th. 

During the search, the suspect who had been hiding in a bedroom confronted a Beachwood Police Officer who fired his duty weapon once striking the suspect, after which the suspect was taken into custody and transported to a medical facility. 

The suspect's wound was not life threatening and he is currently in the custody of the South Euclid Police Department.
