Cardinals Rookies to participate in community events next weekPosted: Updated:
The Arizona Cardinals Football Club's rookie class featuring draft choices and rookie free agents will participate in four community activities next week.
On Tuesday, May 28, the Cardinals rookies will be at the Guadalupe branch of the Boys & Girls Club (9225 S. Avenida Del Yaqui, Guadalupe) and participate in an Xbox video game competition with the kids from 11:30 a.m-1:00 p.m.
The following day (Wednesday, May 29), the rookies will visit Phoenix Children's Hospital (1919 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix) and visit the Kids Zone from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The players will take pictures, sign autographs and play games with the children in the hospital.
On Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31, the Cardinals rookies will host Gatorade Jr. Training Camps each day from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Tempe Sports Complex (8403 S. Hardy Dr., Tempe). Each camp will consist of 100 kids from various NFL Flag Football leagues from across the Valley.
Gatorade Jr. Training Camps are run in conjunction with the NFL's "Play 60" campaign to help children receive 60 minutes of daily physical activity. A Cardinals player is joined by Big Red at each camp to help students learn non-contact skills such as passing and catching at a five-station interactive play area.
