A woman in North Carolina is accused of poisoning her family with cheese tainted with household chemicals.

Tiara Drake, 24, is charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder, according to the Nash County, NC Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said Drake attempted to poison five family members, including two juveniles, with cheese laced with Ajax, window cleaner and detergent.

Investigators said Drake asked Evelyn Johnson for some of her cheese on May 17. Johnson refused to give Drake any of her cheese, but told her there was another kind of cheese in the refrigerator that she could eat.

A sheriff's office report says this apparently upset Drake, who that night poisoned the cheese with various chemicals.

The family then used the toxic cheese the next morning to make breakfast. Four people ate the food before Johnson noticed that it had been poisoned.

EMS and poison control were contacted and advised the family members who ate the tainted cheese to drink milk, which would dilute the poison.

Drake is being held on $50,000 bond.
