Community to discuss cyberbullying, sexual assaultPosted: Updated:
A discussion that will cover the topics of sexual assault and cyberbullying will be held at Torrington High School on Tuesday night.
The forum comes months after four high school football players were accused of having inappropriate relationships with two 13-year-old girls in Feburary.
However, police have since closed their investigation.
The teens, who accused the boys, were subject to online bullying after the allegations were made.
The topics of sexual assault, cyberbullying, parenting the adolescent child and students' rights are all expected to be discussed.
The following community members are expected to be part of the panel:
- Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Kloczko
- Mayor Ryan Bingham
- Torrington Police Chief Michael Maniago
- Susan B. Anthony Project Executive Director Barbara Spiegel
- New Opportunities Manager Maria Gonzalez
The discussion will be at 6:15 p.m. in the Little Theater inside the high school.
