PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A Scottsdale woman has been sentenced to life in prison for killing her husband and dumping his dismembered body in 2009.
Shari Tobyne pleaded guilty on Friday and the judge also gave her the sentence for first-degree murder in the death of her husband, Dwight Tobyne.
Authorities said Dwight Tobyne was in the process of divorcing Shari Tobyne and moving out on November 24, 2009, when she shot and killed him. Police said she stored his body at their home for awhile and then dismembered his body and dumped his remains across three different counties in Arizona.
Investigators said Shari Tobyne sent messages to family and friends from her husband's cell phone and email accounts to make them think he was still alive.
Dwight Tobyne's eldest daughter reported him missing on July 21, 2010.
Investigators said Shari Tobyne originally told them he left the country because they were going through a separation.
Officers arrested Shari Tobyne in August of 2010 on first-degree murder charges after they said she admitted she shot him in November 2009 and dumped his body.
